'Is' events coming up

'Is' is about a schoolgirl who thinks she is Isambard Kingdom Brunel reincarnated! The novel (for 9-12 year olds) not only combines humour with a real mystery but, as Derek Webb suggests, it can also be a useful way of enthusing KS2/3 pupils about science, engineering and other subjects.

Gwili Railway 150th anniversary celebrations: Saturday September 4th

Derek Webb will be giving an 'interactive reading' from Is, and signing books as part of the celebrations of the Gwili Railway.  Join him at Bronwydd Arms Station, Carmarthen starting @ 11 am.

Waterstones, Carmarthen:  Monday September 13th

Derek Webb will be at Waterstones, Carmarthen, from 1pm to sign books and show - with readings and practical examples - how a children's novel such as Is can be used to enthuse children in other subjects.

Waterstones, Portsmouth: Saturday October 2nd

Derek Webb will be at Waterstones, Portsmouth (the city IKB was born in), from 10 am to sign books and show - with readings and practical examples - how a children's novel such as Is can be used to enthuse children in other subjects.
